At some point it happens to all of us: you look in the mirror and notice the first fine lines and wrinkles on your face. Let us explain why wrinkles appear and which active ingredients help reduce visible signs of aging.
What is Anti Aging?
Unfortunately we cannot stop the skin aging process. However, with a healthy lifestyle and the right skin care we can slow down the process. Anti-aging - describes measures, methods and products that help to keep the skin young and smooth for longer.
Wrinkles - causes and symptoms
Wrinkles are a clear sign of skins aging. There are genetic reasons for this process. However, external and environmental factors can also contribute to the aging process.
Wrinkles due to reduced elasticity
Collagen is the main structural protein in various connective tissues, including dermis - the second layer of the skin. It is the thickest layer of the skin, and is made up of fibrous and elastic tissue. Thus provides strength and flexibility to the skin. After the skin's movement - for example laughter - the fibrous tissue ensures skin returns to its basic smooth state.
In addition, the collagen fibres store a large amount of fluid, which makes the skin appear firmer and smoother. As we get older, our body reduces the production of collagen. At the same time, the elastic fibres in our skin are slowly broken down. The result: the skin becomes thinner and looser. Wrinkles form because there is increasingly less resistance to gravity.
Wrinkles due to lack of moisture
Moisture provides a fresh complexion and firm skin. If the skin lacks moisture, it looks pale and dryness is likely to appear. The key molecule responsible for the hydration of our skin is Hyaluron. It can store up to thousand times its weight and prevent the moisture from evaporating into the air.
As we age, the hyaluronic acid content in our body decreases noticeably. As a result, the skin's ability to bind water is reduced. What's more, a weakened skin can lead to increased sensitivity to soaps and other alkaline substances (PH value > 7).
Wrinkles caused by external factors
In addition to genetic predispositions, environmental factors also contribute to the ageing of the skin and the formation of wrinkles. Oxidative stress facilitates the release of free radicals in our body - aggressive molecules that can damage our skin cells and thus accelerate the aging process. The main cause of premature skin aging is insufficient sun protection. UV light can lead to skin damage - also known as photo-aging - resulting in wrinkles or pigmentation.
Oxidative stress is often caused by air pollution and an unbalanced, high sugar diet. In addition, factors such as the blue light from mobile phone and laptop displays, lack of sleep and chronic stress can negatively affect the skin’s appearance too.
Anti-Aging cosmetics: What prevents wrinkles
Even our personalised skin cream from AVE & YOU cannot completely stop the aging process. However, with the right active ingredients we can significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other visible signs of aging. In our creams and serums we use these hero active ingredients to achieve:
Apricot kernel oil: The ultimate collagen booster
Apricot kernel oil is a mixture of various ingredients. Among those you will find a range of vitamins, antioxidants and fatty acids.
This active ingredient stimulates collagen production, reduces inflammation and revitalises dry, sensitive skin. Apricot kernel oil has a high content of vitamin E. It is a natural antioxidant, which is identical to our skin sebum and therefore has a particularly calming effect.
Hyaluron: The moisturizing booster
Hyaluron, a substance found in the skin. It is easily tolerated and an ideal anti-aging agent. A differentiation can be made between high and low molecular hyaluronic acid.
The former provides an immediate effect and makes your skin look plumper and smoother. The latter is stored in the connective tissue and can have a positive influence on cell metabolism. Hyaluron therefore can help your skin to repair itself effectively.
Bio-Placenta: The rejuvenation cocktail
Bio Placenta is - like apricot kernel oil - a mixture of several ingredients. It contains various biotechnologically produced nutrients combined with amino acids and vitamins to form an effective anti-aging mixture.
The vegan active ingredient Bio-Placenta stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis. It increases the skin's elasticity and reduces the formation of wrinkles. It also reduces age-related skin thinning and stimulates cell vitalisation.
When should you start using anti-aging products?
From around the age of 25, our body cells start to reduce their activity. The first visible signs of skin aging appear from the age of 30 onwards in the form of small eye wrinkles or lines on the forehead.
From the age of 20, we recommend using products with moisturising ingredients and effective UV protection. This will keep your skin looking fresh and prevent fine lines caused by dryness.
From around the age of 30 the first signs of skin aging start to appear and you should consider using cosmetics with anti-aging ingredients.

For that extra boost against wrinkles and other signs of skin aging we have developed our “BYE, WRINKLES" serum.
On the one hand, the intensive care contains the ingredient LIFTONIN®EXPRESS, which is sustainably derived from seaweed. It immediately makes your skin look smoother and provides a long-lasting firming effect. In addition, a highly concentrated peptide complex stimulates collagen synthesis and repairs the skin.
This light serum is quickly absorbed into the skin and is the perfect complement to our skin care creams. It is best applied after cleansing the face and before the face cream. In this way, the serum can penetrate deep into the skin and give you a more youthful complexion.
