A little birdie told us you're spending some extra time at home! As a key member of your AVE & YOU family, we wanted to share with you our top five tips to maximize the time you have at home. It's time to reconnect the mind, body, and spirit. 

SOLUTION TO HOME POLLUTION 

You thought your commute was a pain? Just because you’re staying indoors (and hopefully giving yourself a well-deserved makeup break) it doesn't mean you should throw away your entire skincare routine. The air at home might not be as good for your skin as you think! Your skin is still exposed to dirt, dust, and produces sebum on its own. To keep the radiant look remember to clean your face twice a day before applying your personalized cream. And before going to bed remember to let some fresh air into your home. 

THE GUT- SKIN CONNECTION 

The gut and skin constantly work as a team. While symptoms may vary, the skin is often a great window for what’s going on inside the gut. It is where we digest nutrients, metabolize hormones and detoxify enzymes, so it’s super important to get your health in check in order to feel well and of course, experience clear, glowing skin. It’s easy to fool those ZOOM video meetings but why don’t you take the extra time and start making home cooked meals? The Internet is full of healthy and easy recipes. And if you have the urge to snack all day, try to load on some vitamins from your favorite fruits and vegetables.
 

“I WOKE UP LIKE THIS”

Getting a poor night of sleep doesn’t do wonders to your skin. It's easy to get off the sleep wagon when you don’t have a strict work schedule anymore. Remember to give your body signals it's time to wind down. These can include no caffeine late in the day, turning off electronics 2 hours prior to bedtime, making your room dark and trying to go to sleep around the same time each night.

LEAVE SOME WINE FOR LATER

Having a drink or two to loosen up and unwind at home? Despite feeling relaxed in the moment, did you know that it can trigger anxiety and cause your skin to breakout the next day? Try limiting your alcohol consumption to keep your skin in check. 

TRY COUPLE OR FAMILY WORKOUTS

If you follow YouTube, then you’ve probably consumed enough workout content to last a lifetime. Now is the perfect time to use it! You will find a large variety of workouts, from simple stretching, yoga and dance lessons to HIIT training, full-body or strength workouts. Don’t shy away to include your kids. There are plenty of fun family workouts that your kids will love.
